Ethiopia Guji Buku Abel Washed
Buku Abel Washing Station sits at 1,900–2,100 MASL in Hambela, Guji—one of Ethiopia's most distinctive coffee-producing regions. Established in 2019, the station occupies a small hill where volcanic red soils, cool mountain winds, and consistent sunshine create ideal conditions for slow cherry maturation and flavor development.
The washing station sources cherries from approximately 500 smallholder farmers who maintain semi-forest and garden coffee systems. These farmers cultivate native heirloom varieties across their plots, carefully selecting and delivering ripe cherries to the station.
This coffee follows Ethiopia's traditional washed method: cherries are pulped, fermented, washed, and dried on raised African beds, resulting in a clean, vibrant cup with high acidity and floral-fruity complexity.
